A new joint venture between PT Selaras Daya Utama, known as SEDAYUSolar, and Yude Solar Technologies will develop, invest in, build and operate commercial and industrial and utility-scale solar projects across Indonesia.
Jakarta Partnership Targets Full Solar Project Lifecycle
The two companies announced the strategic partnership on October 12, 2026, from Jakarta. The venture links an established Indonesian solar engineering, procurement, and construction company with one of China's leading rooftop solar developers, a subsidiary of GoodWe Group.
According to the company, the partners intend to establish an integrated platform covering the solar project lifecycle, from development and financing through engineering, construction, and long-term operation.
Two Track Records Behind the Venture
SEDAYUSolar was established in 2009 and has delivered more than 250 solar projects across Indonesia. Its portfolio spans C&I rooftop solar, utility projects, off-grid systems and hybrid power systems, giving the joint venture more than 17 years of local execution history in the Indonesian renewable energy sector.
Yude Solar, founded in 2021, has developed and commissioned more than 3 GW of residential and C&I solar projects. The company operates across more than 20 provinces in China and is expanding across Southeast Asia through solar project development, investment, energy storage and smart energy solutions.
Scope Covers Rooftop, Ground-Mounted, and Storage
The joint venture will focus on C&I rooftop solar, ground-mounted systems, and larger utility-scale projects throughout Indonesia. The partners will also explore the integration of battery energy storage systems where appropriate, with the stated aim of improving renewable energy utilization and strengthening energy resilience. The structure is designed to connect project development, capital, technology, EPC execution and long-term operations in a single scalable platform.
Yude Solar contributes international project development, investment and technology capabilities, while SEDAYUSolar brings local EPC experience and market expertise accumulated over more than a decade of operations in Indonesia.
Leadership Voices from Both Sides
Bryan Bao, Chief Executive Officer of Yude Solar, described the partnership as an important step in the company's international development. "By combining our project development, investment and technology capabilities with SEDAYUSolar's strong local expertise and execution experience, we aim to build a long-term platform that can support the development of high-quality solar projects across Indonesia," Bao said.
Fendi Liem, Founder and CEO of SEDAYUSolar, pointed to his company's long-standing commitment to the Indonesian market. "For more than 17 years, SEDAYU has been committed to developing reliable and sustainable solar energy solutions for Indonesia," Liem said.
"Our partnership with Yude Solar brings together local knowledge and execution capabilities with investment, technology, and international project development experience. We believe this collaboration can create long-term value for customers and partners across Indonesia." Milan Koev, General Manager Southeast Asia of Yude Solar, positioned Indonesia as a priority market in the company's regional strategy.
"Indonesia is a strategic renewable energy market for Yude Solar and an important part of our long-term expansion in Southeast Asia," Koev said. "Our objective is not simply to build individual projects, but to establish a sustainable platform capable of developing, financing, constructing and operating a portfolio of C&I and utility-scale solar assets."
Platform Focus Signals Long-Term Ambition
The remarks from both companies' leadership underline a shared emphasis on building a durable platform rather than pursuing standalone projects. The venture's stated scope covers the full lifecycle of solar assets, including development, financing, engineering, construction, and long-term operation, across both the C&I and utility-scale segments.
The possible inclusion of battery energy storage systems indicates that the partners intend to address energy utilization and resilience concerns alongside solar generation, although the announcement specifies that BESS integration will be explored only where appropriate to individual projects.
Where to Find More Information
Backed by Yude Solar's parent company GoodWe Group and SEDAYUSolar's record of more than 250 delivered projects since 2009, the joint venture enters the Indonesian market with more than 3 GW of combined commissioned solar development experience and coverage spanning rooftop, ground-mounted, off-grid and hybrid power applications. Both companies describe the collaboration as the formal start of a long-term platform for high-quality solar development in Indonesia.
