Energix Exceeds 1 GW in PJM as Stem Activates PowerTrack at 152 MW Solar Plant in Ohio, US

Energix US has crossed the 1 GW mark in its U.S. portfolio within the PJM Interconnection market with the commissioning of Border Basin Solar, a 152 MWdc (120 MWac) solar project in Hancock County, Ohio, now running on Stem, Inc.'s PowerTrack Platform.

Stem announced the successful deployment, which puts the plant in service and supplies clean energy to the PJM wholesale market.

From Engineering Bench to Site Handoff

The Ohio installation received end-to-end support from Stem across the full project lifecycle, beginning with conceptual design and continuing through factory preparation, commissioning, and handoff to the plant operators.

The company's scope combined early-stage engineering with panel shop assembly and pre-configuration, Factory Acceptance Testing, on-site commissioning, utility witness testing, and remote support, allowing the facility to come online with complete visibility from its first day of operation.

Hardware and software delivered to the site included PJMnet integration, power plant controls, local SCADA, communications and networking equipment, and meteorological stations.

PowerTrack Software now functions as the site's power plant control, data acquisition, and monitoring backbone, offering cloud-based monitoring, performance analytics, alerting, reporting, and remote data backup.

What Executives on Both Sides Are Saying

Matt Tappin, President of Software at Stem, framed the commissioning as the start of a longer operational commitment rather than the finish line.

Bringing a utility-scale project online is only part of the equation for developers like Energix, he said, noting that long-term success depends on reliable operations, clear visibility into asset performance, and the right technical support.

Tappin said Stem is proud to support Energix as it grows its solar portfolio and works to maximize the performance and long-term value of its assets.

Zvi Tvizer, Country Manager and COO at Energix Renewables, called Border Basin an important milestone as the company passes 1 GW in its U.S. portfolio in the PJM market.

According to Tvizer, PowerTrack gives Energix's operations team the real-time visibility and performance insight needed to maximize production and ensure reliable, long-term operation of the facility.

The PJM Footprint Behind the Project

Border Basin's connection to the PJM Interconnection, a regional transmission organization serving the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, places the plant squarely within the market where Energix has concentrated its American expansion.

The announcement positions PowerTrack as the control and monitoring backbone for utility-scale solar facilities serving major wholesale markets, with the Ohio project serving as the latest example.

Energix, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is an independent power producer that develops, constructs, owns, and operates renewable energy projects across their full lifecycle. Active in the U.S. market since 2016, the company ranks among the leading solar energy producers in the Mid-Atlantic region and counts itself one of the largest players in the photovoltaic market in Virginia and Pennsylvania, with rapid expansion into neighboring states.

Stem, Inc., listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker STEM, describes itself as a global leader in AI-enabled clean energy software and services, working with asset owners, operators, and energy stakeholders to unlock portfolio value through the intelligent development, deployment, and operation of clean energy assets. The company reports projects across 55 countries and nearly 20 years of customer service, with PowerTrack serving as its integrated platform for asset monitoring and optimization, supported by professional and managed services.
