The award pushes Tata Power Solar's pending order book to USD 143.04 million. With the addition, the company's total utility-scale solar project portfolio now stands at 9.7 GWp.
The company describes itself as a pioneer in implementing and commissioning large-scale solar and renewable projects across the country. Three Decades in Indian Solar Manufacturing
Headquartered in Bangalore, Tata Power Solar traces its origins to 1989, when it was set up as a joint venture between Tata Power and British Petroleum Solar (BP Solar). Today it operates independently as a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power and is counted among India's largest integrated solar companies.
The firm claims more than 32 years of domain expertise and ranks as India's largest specialized EPC player, as well as one of the pioneering solar manufacturers globally. The company runs a manufacturing facility in Bangalore with the capacity to produce 635 MW of modules and 500 MW of cells, making it one of the largest solar manufacturers in India.
A Diverse Portfolio Beyond Utility-Scale Projects
Beyond its 9.7 GWp of ground-mount utility-scale work, Tata Power Solar's track record includes more than 1,000 MW of rooftop and distributed generation projects nationwide, along with over 67,000 solar water pumps installed in India to date. The company also serves urban and rural markets with a range of solar offerings, including rooftop solutions, solar pumps, and power packs, among other products.
